Equality, freedom & justice

Now is the time to take a stand against oppression. A way to
beat the division and lies spread by repressive leaders. Because our freedoms are fading fast.

Amnesty International is a movement of millions, united in solidarity, and it’s time for all of us to act. Side with truth and justice. Take a stand against chaos and cruelty.

We are bold because we go where others won’t. We challenge injustice wherever it exists—whether it’s governments that abuse power, corporations that exploit people, or systems that silence communities. Guided by evidence and grounded in international human rights law, we confront uncomfortable truths, amplify unheard voices, and push for transformative change, even when it’s unpopular or politically inconvenient.

Our bravery is rooted in solidarity. We stand alongside human rights activists, Indigenous land defenders, refugees, trans youth, and communities demanding justice—not as saviours, but as partners. We don’t back down when faced with threats, backlash, or barriers. Instead, we act—together—because building a world grounded in equality, compassion, and freedom requires not just hope, but also courage.

We stand firm in our commitment to remain politically and financially independent. This means we do not accept funding from governments or political parties for our human rights work.

Why? Because independence allows us to investigate, expose, and challenge human rights abuses—no matter who is responsible—with credibility and without compromise.

Whether it’s holding governments accountable for unjust policies or standing in solidarity with those whose voices are silenced, our impartiality is non-negotiable. It protects the integrity of our research, advocacy, and activism, and ensures that our loyalty is to people, not power.

Our strength is in our numbers— we’re a global community of more than 10 million people standing up for human rights. We are ordinary people with extraordinary commitment, working together across borders, languages, and time zones to challenge injustice wherever it happens.

When one voice speaks out, it can be silenced—but when millions rise together, we are impossible to ignore. Whether defending freedom of expression, protecting Indigenous rights, or demanding justice for victims of state violence, we act in solidarity because we believe in dignity, equality, and freedom for all.

This is what people power looks like—and it’s changing lives every day.
