30 days for refugees – Day 7

You may have heard about this already, but Uganda is a truly exceptional place.

Nobody needs to tell Uganda to welcome refugees – they are welcoming them with open arms.

The trouble is, they don’t have the resources to look after the sudden influx of people fleeing violence in South Sudan, and this is putting the country under huge strain.

One million refugees have fled the brutal conflict in South Sudan to find safety in Uganda, but a lack of international funding means that many of them are not receiving basic services such as food, water and shelter.

There are now more than 1.2 million refugees in total in Uganda, so we need the international community to act urgently. If everyone shares the load, we can make a real difference to those who desperately need protection.

Please send this postcard to your government and tell them to help Uganda provide a safe place for refugees.

Thank you for all your support.
