Tansi the Board of Directors and Global Delegation, I am Dane-zaa and Michif through my father of the Clear Hills Region, Duncan First Nation and Horse Lake First Nation of Treaty 8 territory, and French-Canadian through my mother. Currently, I am completing my masters in Peace and Conflict Studies through the Rotary Peace Fellowship. Most of my career has been in frontline positions working with people from different backgrounds and a variety of roles, but I knew I wanted to do more than address violence, discrimination, and stigma, and instead work towards preventing it in the first place. A key tenet of my praxis is collective, consensus, localized decision-making where through participatory development communication all people can have their voices heard. I believe that my position as mixed Indigenous person, frontline service provider, and (soon to be) master degree holder has provided me with the experience, expertise and qualifications to sit on the board at Amnesty International. Mahsi cho!
