This year’s Write for Rights event will be held at the Lunenburg Public Library and will honour the memory of Bob Mertens, human rights defender, supporter of Amnesty International, South Shore Public Libraries, and South Shore Council of Canadians, and, until four years ago, the key organizer of the Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia Write for Rights event.

There will be lots of space for writing and keeping social distancing. Copies of this year’s ten featured cases and writing materials (paper, envelopes) and letter-writing tips will be available. Bring a drink, pen, laptop or other device. We will provide everything else you need to make this a manageable task, whether you are a seasoned or first-time writer.

Donations covering mailing costs will be appreciated, and a donation box will be available. Drop in at any time during the day.  If you prefer to write from home, please contact us. Once you register, we can reach out with more information.
