On January 6, 2025, the United States transferred 11 Yemeni men from the Guantanamo Bay military detention facility to Oman. Among them was Toffiq al-Bihani, who had been detained since 2003 and cleared for transfer as far back as 2010.
Guantanamo Bay has been in operation for over 20 years, holding more than 700 Muslim men and boys during its history. Many were subjected to torture, all were detained arbitrarily, and none received a fair trial.
Today, three men who have been cleared for release remain in the facility. President Biden must act swiftly to transfer them to safe locations before his term ends on January 20, 2025.
NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUESTED. MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO SENT APPEALS.
