Biography

Elena is the National Leadership Development Coordinator for Amnesty International Canada, member of AI Canada’s Activism Team. After twenty-seven years this is still her favourite job in the world. Elena draws energy and passion from all the amazing Amnesty young leaders she meets, supports and mentors. She works closely with and supports two youth leadership structures: the AI Canada's National Organizers Program and the National Youth Advisory and Action Committee. She is also the staff support for a number of specialized teams focusing on Climate Justice/Corporate Accountability, on Gender/LGBTIQ Rights, on Indigenous Rights and Refugees/Migrants. She loves the arts and the amazing power arts has in reaching people’s minds and hearts and finds great inspiration in helping bring to life young people’s creative and innovative ideas. Chocolate is also an important part of her life.
