On July 9, Amnesty International’s Toronto office hosted a screening of My Friend Omar, drawing 30 attendees—many new to Amnesty—for a powerful evening of learning, dialogue and action. The film sparked a lively and thoughtful discussion on Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program and the urgent need for systemic change. Organized by members of the Amnesty Refugees and Migrants Specialized Team, the event wrapped up with meaningful actions taken by participants.
